Bouncing Back from a F**k Up
Approaching Setbacks with a Learning Mindset
Everyone fails. Every professional, at every level, has a moment where something went wrong in a way they did not anticipate, where they said the wrong thing, missed the mark, or fell short of what they were capable of. What separates the people who grow from those moments from the ones who get stuck is not talent, seniority, or natural ability. It is mindset. And mindset, it turns out, is something you can actually build.
This resilience and growth mindset workshop is designed specifically for individual contributors who are ready to transform their relationship with setbacks, self-doubt, and the inner critic that shows up whenever things do not go according to plan. Drawing on the principles of psychological safety and emotional agility, this session brings those concepts to the individual level, exploring imposter syndrome, the fear of failure, and the thinking traps that keep people from owning their mistakes, learning from them, and moving forward with renewed confidence. This is not a workshop about avoiding failure. It is about developing the resilience, self-awareness, and growth mindset to make every setback a source of genuine learning and forward momentum.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is imposter syndrome and how does this workshop address it?
Imposter syndrome is the persistent feeling that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be, and that at some point, people will find out. It is remarkably common among high achievers and can significantly limit growth, risk-taking, and authentic contribution. This workshop helps participants recognize when imposter syndrome is active, understand why it shows up, and develop specific strategies for responding to it with confidence and self-compassion rather than avoidance or over-compensation.
How is this workshop different from The Art + Science of Psychological Safety?
The Art + Science of Psychological Safety is designed for leaders building a culture of trust and safety on their teams. Bouncing Back from a F**k Up applies the same core principles of psychological safety and emotional agility at the individual level, focused on how each person can build personal resilience, process setbacks constructively, and develop the growth mindset that makes failure a source of learning rather than limitation.
What is a growth mindset and why does it matter for professional development?
A growth mindset is the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication, effort, and learning rather than being fixed traits. People with a growth mindset see setbacks as information rather than indictment, and they are consistently more resilient, more creative, and more willing to take the risks that lead to meaningful growth. This workshop helps participants understand where their mindset currently sits and build toward a more growth-oriented, possibility-forward orientation.
Is this workshop appropriate for teams as well as individual contributors?
While it is designed with individual contributors in mind, teams who share a culture of perfectionism, fear of failure, or reluctance to take creative risks will also find it highly valuable. The individual-level reflection it generates often opens team-level conversations about how to create more psychological safety, learning orientation, and genuine encouragement of each other's growth.
How does this workshop connect to broader leadership development programs?
Bouncing Back from a F**k Up works powerfully as a foundational experience in a leadership development journey, building the self-awareness, resilience, and growth mindset that everything else in the program builds on. It pairs especially well with The Art + Science of Psychological Safety and Strength Based Leadership as part of a comprehensive personal and professional development program.
